FREETOWN — The Stop & Shop Distribution Center will help keep 200 people warmer this winter by donating coats to the Freetown Senior Center.
'They do need coats. At least we can know people are warm,' said Barbara Place, director of the Freetown Council on Aging, in accepting the donation. 'People come in here, and you can tell that they have not had a new coat in a long, long time. After so many machine washings, many...

They are the new suits behind the old Zoots, a pair of former employees who took a chance on salvaging at least part of the dismantled dry cleaning giant. The risk, they say, seems to be paying off.
This spring, Rick Simoneau and Trish O'Leary arranged a buyout of the Brockton-based regional operation of Zoots. Doing so not only saved their jobs, they said, but also the jobs of roughly 350 others, including 200 employees at the massive dry-cleani...

Simoneau, partner see an opportunity
BY GUS STEEVES
This past spring, resident Rick Simoneau became the successful suitor for Zoots, a widespread dry-cleaning chain that had been having some financial troubles.
Since then, his 17 stores, 30 home delivery routes, cleaning facility and related services “have made tremendous strides,” he said, turning from a company on the edge of collapse to one that has been able to save 350 jobs.
Simoneau and his business partner Tris...

Need a pair of pants dry cleaned or, perhaps, a blouse? How about an American flag? In honor of Independence Day, Zoots, the dry cleaning chain, will clean and press any American flag dropped off at one of its locations by Tuesday. The service is free.
“There’s nothing more patriotic than a crisp American flag flying on the Fourth of July,” says Rick Simoneau. Mr. Simoneau and Trish O’Leary bought the Zoots stores in Massachusetts and Rhode Island last...

The Enterprise

Zoots hasn’t been taken to the cleaners just yet.
The national dry-cleaning chain fell apart earlier this year, selling off or closing most of its branches.
But in Massachusetts, the chain is still going strong, according to Rick Simoneau and Trish O’Leary, two former mid-level managers at Zoots who purchased the rights to the company on March 28.
They saved all 350 local jobs, 200 of which are located in Brockton; 17 stores and 30 delivery lines in Massa...

Consider price, convenience, and workmanship when having clothing altered
By Kytja Weir
In another era, clothes were all handmade, and the best were crafted exactly to fit. Now, most garments are bought off the hanger in set sizes that don't always take into account long arms, short legs, or broad shoulders.
Tailors can reinvent those ill-fitting purchases, making a shirt pushed to the back of the closet into the star of a wardrobe.
And...
